Women should think again if they accuse their husband avoid from washing up and never put the bins out. The research of LSE also demand that wives who whine they have double-shift at work beside at home even it not true. Both men and women work approximately eight hours a day.However, while women cut down their time for work, many men requite for the lost earning by working extra hours and overtime. Dr Catherine Hakim who is a sociologist at the LSE said: â€Å" This data overturns the well-entrenched theory that women work disproportional long hours in jobs and at home in juggling family at work. Feminists constantly complain that men are not doing their fair share of domestic work. The reality is that most men already do more than their fair share† Couples have no children, they have full-time jobs.However, the research found that women’s overa ll workload was greater than men. Justine Roberts, the co-founder of Mumsnet, the online parenting discussion forum, said: â€Å"The evidence we have is that working women still pick up the bulk of the domestic responsibilities – the housework, all the stuff like organizing the children’s birthday parties and helping them with their homework† The research also give an information that 14 percent of women in Britain prefer a work-centred lifestyle. Beside that, 69 percent want bringing work and family life together while 17 percent think the home is the most mportant part of their life However, Dr Hakim believe that â€Å" government policy fail to take this into account, favouring full-time workers and ignoring unpaid work. One-side policies that support employment and carrers but ignore the productive work done in the family are, in effect, endorsing marketplace values over family values† She said: â€Å" Men are beginning to demand the same options and choices as women, with more claims of sex discrimination from men†. â€Å"Policy-makers need to be aiming for gener-neutral policies. †
